The 2nd SARA Winter School is a five-day, hands-on learning experience designed especially for students and early-career researchers in social sciences and the humanities who want to build confidence in statistics and learn how to use R, a powerful and free tool for data analysis.

Whether you are completely new to programming, anxious about statistics, or eager to upgrade your research skills β€” this winter school is built for you.

Why Join This Winter School?

1. Learn Statistics Without Fear

We understand that many social science and humanities students feel anxious about numbers. We use simple, intuitive explanations to help you understand concepts step by step, with real examples from sociology, psychology, education, political science, economics, and related fields.

You will learn R through guided exercises, interactive demos, and hands-on practiceβ€”we begin from the basics and build up gradually.

The entire winter school is completely FREE. Participants only pay Rs. 3500 for food and accommodation for five days.

6. Fellowships for Marginalized Students & Women

A limited number of full and partial fellowships are available for:

  • Students from marginalized communities

  • Women researchers

  • First-generation learners

These fellowships cover food + accommodation and are awarded based on need and motivation.

Seats are limited to ensure personal attention and guided support for each participant. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email.

Refund Policy

1. Cancellation by Participant

  • 15+ Days Before Start Date:
    • 100% Refund: Full refund of fees paid.
  • 7–14 Days Before Start Date:
    • 50% Refund: Half of the fees paid.
  • Less Than 7 Days Before Start Date:
    • No Refund: Fees are non-refundable.

Process:

  • Submit a refund request via email to sara.institute.info@gmail.com with:
    • Participant name
    • Transaction details (payment ID, date).
    • Reason for cancellation.
  • Refunds processed within 7–10 business days via original payment method.

2. Scholarship Recipients

  • Scholarship seats are non-refundable.
  • If unable to attend, notify SARA at least 7 days prior to free the seat for another candidate.

3. Cancellation by SARA

  • If SARA cancels/reschedules the event:
    • 100% Refund: Full refund for all paid participants.
    • Option to Transfer: Join the next cohort at no extra cost.

4. Special Cases

  • Medical Emergencies: Submit a doctor’s certificate for refund consideration (partial/full, case-by-case basis).
  • Partial Attendance: No refunds for days attended.

5. Non-Refundable Components

  • Administrative Fees: β‚Ή500 (deducted from all refunds).
